Cool Tool Review and Special Client Discount

We often get endorsements for products, services, and other "cool tools" from our clients and staff. This week we would like to share with you some of the most recent recommendations that have come through our inboxes.

Yahoo Answers

We LOVE it because Google typically indexes our answers in about 48 hours!

I go there on a regular basis because we specialize with first time buyers and they have so many questions. I try to look for Orange County related questions, but sometimes I just answer general first time buyer questions too. It must be my customer service background but I do tend to get awarded "best answer" for a lot of questions. Getting "best answer" totally boosts my credibility and gives me more points. I would say we add at least one new warm lead to our database per week because of our answers. I even taught Mike (my husband and Real Estate partner) to do it too and he actually does!

I really think that in order to make the system work well you need to have good custom pages on your website. I always try to include a link to more information (on our website of course) in my answers. Many times I will be directing first time buyers to pre-qualify with one of the lenders we recommend, or to our "how you can own a home too" page. Yahoo answers is a great way to find or speak to your niche market online and make the best use out of those content pages you took so much time to write!

I also have my own business which provides Virtual Assistant services. As a VA, Yahoo answers saves our clients money. Instead of us having to troubleshoot a glitch for an hour (or hours) on their account we simply post a question and get tons of answers, usually the right answer, within minutes. LOVE IT!

Zillow Home Q & A and Trulia Voices

A Great Find by Advanced Access Staff

Along the same lines as Yahoo Answers, Zillow Home Q & A encourages consumers to post their questions and allows real estate professionals to answer. The main difference here is that the Q & A is regarding a specific property. Are people asking questions about a home you have listed? Be there to answer them! Zillow recently published an article on their blog featuring some of the most active agents in the Q & A program.

Trulia Voices is another similar platform in which you can interact with real estate consumers. You can read about some of Trulia's newest features on the Realty Thoughts blog.

Inman Wiki

A Great Find by Advanced Access Staff

Inman has a Real Estate specific Wiki (user generated content) section called InmanWiki. Create an account and build your profile to begin contributing. There is some great info on the Inman News Blog regarding the benefits of participating - including giving yourself some well deserved "Google Juice".

PDF Makers

ExpressPDF - ExpressPDF is a FREE online service that lets you convert your Microsoft Office documents to PDF. This service can also convert Web pages to PDF!

PDFFactory - I use this cool tool quite often. It acts like a printer and you can print any document to it and create a PDF file. - Judy Peterson

Call Wave

Another cool tool I use is Call Wave eFax. Anyone can fax to your unique Call Wave Number. Sometimes I will fax a document to my own Call Wave Number, which sends me an email with the pdf attachment which I can then email to someone else or save in my client's file as a record. Reduces the mountain of paperwork!
