What Have You Done For Me Lately?

Client Testimonials Can Add Sparkle To Your Real Estate Website

You’ve done some good things for your clients.  You’ve completed a short-sale, got the client more than they expected, saved them some money in the closing costs, or even managed to get a terrific finance package in an unstable marketplace from a difficult lender.  You found the “perfect” home, pet friendly, near some schools, a great view, or even the amenities in a price range that they never expected – quite simply, you’ve pulled off a miracle!

Now it’s time to let your happy clients work a bit for you!

Taking The Time To Record Your Triumphs In Detail

Client testimonials can go a long way in making your website sparkle, and provide a track record of just how involved you are with the client and their intimate hopes and goals when looking for or selling a home.  Whether you are a new agent or a seasoned veteran of many years in the industry – buyers and sellers can provide the very best references when other potential clients are looking for and trying to decide who best to represent them in a real estate process.

For the experienced agent, this is usually not a problem.  One would figure that over the course of a long and successful career in real estate, the “seasoned veteran” would have at one time or another met and succeeded in just about every possible challenging scenario that one could imagine that a buyer or seller could possibly present.  It might be a specific circumstance or a challenging piece of property, or something that made the client just that more impressed with your talents as a real estate agent.

Don’t Be Afraid To Ask

This is why you always ask the satisfied client if they would provide you with a testimonial of some type in order that they can provide a valuable lesson in what kinds of challenges a buyer or seller may face.  Pictures, letters, or actual testimonials can all be used to provide an accurate and sometimes compelling performance track record of what kind of service you can provide to your potential clients.  The actual list of effective evidence is endless, and may even include a slide show, short video wrap-up, or voice recording of how you were able to help the client achieve their real estate goal or objective. You may want to include a brief history, some background on what challenges and unique set of circumstances you had to overcome to finalize the deal.  Again, it may be a short time period, difficult financing, unique seller or buyer requests, or other types of challenges that you needed to overcome.  All of these help provide an accurate, detailed record of how effective you are as a real estate agent in meeting and many times surpassing the goals and objectives of the agent-client relationship.  They provide details about you and your work ethic.  These performance records serve as “living referrals” to the potential client, and in many cases will help you secure new referrals and continue to establish your worth as a real estate representative.

What If I’m Just Starting Out As A Real Estate Professional?

As a new agent, a testimonial page serves an entirely different purpose and focus.  Many times, agents just starting out, have no clients, no real history, or even any real success and accomplishments to speak of.  But the testimonial page can also serve as a list of what qualities you do have, and what working and ethical strengths you do posses and that you can offer to a potential client.  Perhaps you have a hobby that takes a great deal of time and effort, maybe you play an instrument, or volunteer a great deal of spare time to church, school, or a noted charity.  These are the kinds of personality traits that a potential client can identify with, and in the end, will use to determine if you are an effective choice as their real estate representative.  Use them to your advantage, and knowing full well, that the average potential client can surely identify themselves with the kinds of everyday goals and objectives that you are involved with.

You may be new to the industry, but you have no other clients!  So you will be able to focus 100% of your time and energies for that specific client!  A walking and talking 24/7 real estate representative that will help sell or buy your desired piece of real estate. Once you have a few success stories under your belt – it’s just a matter of time before your testimonial page begins to gain depth and length, and provides a great track record of your success.

Keep It Real And Interesting

Now that you have an effective testimonial page, make sure you “keep it real” by taking the time to update and add to your triumphs and eventual success!  Always update and list those new and exciting experiences that other clients will be looking for.  Perhaps you sold some property near some water; in a redevelopment area; a newly built house, or even a historically-registered home or building.  All of these demonstrate how you have grown and expanded your knowledge of the real estate industry, and all will continue to impress a certain kind of potential client!

Finally, make sure you let your testimonials and clients work for you!  Let them demonstrate that a caring, effective, and highly-trained real estate professional can make the difference in purchasing or selling a home and for the casual surfer on the Internet – you are the ultimate choice for them!
