The holidays are approaching, and traffic on your real estate website has slowed to a crawl.  This yearly phenomenon is not totally unexpected, but can cause a little uneasiness and undue pressure on top of the holiday crunch.  People are preoccupied, and have a thousand things on their minds.  But it’s the perfect time to make some subtle changes to your website in order to capture a few more leads from those “bargain hunters” who are surfing the Internet for some real estate leads of their own.

Take a few moments, and see what “freebies” you offer on your website.  If you are frantically searching for an effective Internet marketing solution that will bring you more leads, make sure you have some FREE and RELEVANT information sprinkled throughout your pages that make-up your website that you can offer to your potential clients.  It’s a simple strategy that can pay BIG dividends when the holidays pass and the market returns to normal.

Offering FREE Information Can Create A “Passionate Customer”

A popular article recently referred to creating a “passionate customer!”  The theory was proposed that you can create a passionate customer by giving them a variety of items that instills a sense of loyalty and trust with the product provider that they are purchasing from or supporting.  Do you every find yourself wondering how you’re going to pay your bills if you don’t get a new client…or several fast?

If you are experiencing some trouble attracting high-quality leads, take a few minutes to review your website and see first-hand what kind of information you are offering to the casual visitor.  If you are getting good exposure, and your search engine efforts are having good results, it may be a simple problem of not having the right kind of information on your site that not only attracts but keeps your potential client engaged and entrenched in the many pages that make-up your site.

Offering a few “freebies” is something that can go a long way in developing trust with your potential clients, and can also help create the “passionate consumer!”

When Was The Last Time You Received Something For Nothing?

I know what you’ve been told countless number of times before…”You never get anything for nothing!”  That adage is as old as the hills.  But it can be wrong in today’s Internet jungle.

Provide them a FREE newsletter, a FREE real estate report, a FREE list of real estate topics such as re-financing or how to apply for a loan, provide them with a FREE list of great real estate books or reference materials, or even provide them with a FREE list of e-mail or real estate courses at their local university or community college.  By allowing your potential clients to access and review this FREE information, you are in a sense, creating a trust or bond with them and helping to create a consumer history that may result in an eventual potential purchasing or selling client!

Remember, Quality Versus Quantity

One thing to remember…in today’s wonderful world of verbal volleyball, FREE usually means “junk!”  So make sure that those FREE items that you provide are relevant and useful information that the consumer will find helpful, not useless.

Maybe during the holidays you provide a schedule of some Christmas celebrations, or a Christmas tree disposal program, maybe even some times when the kids can get their picture taken with Santa Claus at the local mall or shopping center.  Get the idea?  Remember, give the consumer some help and guidance, don’t complicate their lives further.

Try to put the same amount of effort into getting people to accept your FREE information as you do into selling your paid services and products.  Make sure you link to your FREE offers on your website’s home page, mention those services when you speak or provide articles for publications or distribution.  Also, make sure you take a few minutes to “spruce-up” your e-mail signature file, with some interesting information, certification, or even the website that you want to publicize.

T-shirts, pens, book bags, Nerf-balls, or even some CD cases or key chains…all of these provide your potential clients with a FREE item that can be embossed with you name, logo, or website URL.  And items such as these help create a dedicated and loyal “passionate customer!”
