Demanding the Spotlight - Draw Attention to Your WebsiteYou've got your website and you've worked hard on having original content and something special to offer your visitors. Now that you feel that your website is up to par to provide great information to all who happen upon it, its time to focus on getting the people there! Here are a couple of tips to get your site some attention on the Internet: Write a Compelling Title When you're writing Meta titles for the pages of your site, remember that search engines often use them as the display title in their search results. We all know that REALTORSŪ do their best to get their contact information out there, but your Meta title is not the place for it, so be sure to keep your address, phone number and company name out of this area. You'll want to make sure your title contains the most relevant information in regards to the page possible, while keeping it under 70 characters in length. Your title is meant to give the search engines a short, direct description telling them what the page is about, however you also want to be sure to keep your visitors in mind. Write your titles so that they are informative for the search engines while keeping them compelling so that humans want to read more into your site. Use Solid Linking Practices I'll start this by saying that paid linking can be frowned upon; however it is considered tolerable by search engines if you're being honest about it. Paying to be included in a directory which features solid information about the general subject matter of your site can be beneficial to your traffic and the number of leads you receive off of your site, you just want to make sure that you're only paying for inclusion on websites/directories that are going to be valuable to your internet marketing efforts. A good indication of whether or not paying for a link would be beneficial is to check and see if the site your link will be featured on is indexed in Google. If Google does not think the site is good enough to be included in their index, they're probably not going to want to see your link on it. Organic links are a great way to establish authority for your site while naturally boosting you in the virtual pecking order of the search engine rankings. We now know that REALTORŪ to REALTORŪ linking is no longer considered appropriate; we've also learned that reciprocal linking should be based off of the subject matter of an individual page as opposed to your website as a whole. Linking your page about "Unusual Homes" to a website about "Unique Architecture" would be a stronger and more beneficial move than simply trading a general real estate related link for another general real estate related link.Keep our last several Marketing Tips in mind when trying to increase your exposure on the Internet.
