I have mentioned several ideas regarding linking strategies in previous Marketing Tips. This is an essential type of site promotion. The more links pointing to your site, the more traffic you'll experience (and the greater perceived "popularity" will rank you higher in the search engines). Are you ever interested in how YOUR site rates against competitors in your local market? Are do you rank against your competition? I have the place for you to find out! The website is called Link Popularity Check and it is brought you to by MarketPosition.com. First, you enter your complete site address into the first field. Be sure to include the 'http://'! The site will then ask you which search engines you would like to search on. After that you have the option of comparing your website to three other sites, to see how you 'stack up'. Don't be worried if some search engines come back without finding any links going to your website. The results vary between the different search engines. This will give you a small sample of what your competitors will be doing though. Why is Link Popularity so important now?
What can you do to improve your Link Popularity?
Drive
People to Your Site While Driving! We also wanted to remind you about a special date coming up on Sunday...We are going to 'Fall Back' an hour on October 29th, at 2am.
The practice of changing the time began during World War I, so Americans could use as much natural lighting as possible and conserve energy needed for war production. Despite the Uniform Time Act, which Congress passed in 1966 to standardize the time change, several localities within the United States do not observe Daylight Saving Time. They are Arizona, Hawaii, parts of Indiana, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa. But for citizens living outside of those areas, Sunday affords the opportunity for an extra hour of sleep or weekend fun.
Does the hour-long lapse give you jet lag? Then check out these tips for adjusting to the time change. And remember -- now is a good time to check the batteries in your smoke detector. E-mail this LifeMinder to a friend
