Create
Amazing Slideshows to
Attract Visitors to your Site
“Give 'em the old
razzle dazzle - Razzle Dazzle 'em -
Give 'em an act with lots of FLASH in it - And the reaction will be
passionate.“
– From the musical 'Chicago'
Just as the
“razzle-dazzle” song goes, people react to an act with lots of
FLASH and SIZZLE. Web surfers are attracted by movement, motion
and photo images that present a visual message. Slideshows will
capture the viewer’s attention – even if it’s only for few seconds.
And, chances are when your visitor finds your presentation
captivating and relevant, they will spend MORE time on your site and
venture beyond the initial slideshow.
In our NEW
Classic 3.0 program, you have the option to create an impressive
Flash Slideshow. Creating custom slideshows with text enhancements
to make positive marketing statements can make a powerful impact on
your website visitors. This new feature is located within the Design
Center in your Virtual Office. The program allows you to use up to
10 slides per slideshow. However, we recommend using less than 10,
as more will lengthen the loading time of the show for your site
viewers. Please be advised that you need Macromedia Flash player to
view these slideshows. To download the Flash Player,

In our Virtual
Office Manual you will find a Slideshow Builder manual complete with
detailed instructions on the definition of each field. We highly
recommend that you read the Slideshow Builder manual to become
familiar with its uses, so you can determine how you can use this
tool to your advantage.
Advanced Access
offers several default slideshows that you can use. Or, you can
also 'copy' one of our default slideshows and make changes or
additions to customize it to your own specifications.
Here’s how some of our valued clients are using the slideshow
feature to ATTRACT visitors to their site and ENTICE
them to explore beyond the front page.
Kristin Noll is using an attractive design that features a slideshow on the home
page. In her slideshow, Kristin has created revolving “picture
postcard view” with flashing images of the beautiful city of
Milwaukee, Wisconsin to entice viewers to go beyond the home page.
Joe Corbin,
with Adventure Bay Realty, is using a design similar to Kristin Noll
with his own custom slideshow. This is a perfect example of
how you can customize one template and make it look completely
unique.
Geri Sonkin
has created a button on her homepage labeled 'Featured Home Tour'
that takes the visitor on an impressive photo tour through a new
home.
Bill Barber features a new home on his website every few weeks. By
keeping his custom slideshow fresh he continues to attract new
visitors to check his new listings and virtual tours.
Here are some
Frequently Asked Questions about building Slideshows and adding
them to your Website.
Q - How do I
insert a Slideshow?
A
– Within the framework of the Virtual Office, there are several
programs available in which you can insert slideshows in a page
editor. First, be sure your cursor is in the exact place in which
you would like to insert your slideshow while you are in your Page
Editor. Then, click on the icon that looks like a finger pointing
at a keyboard. If you hover your mouse over that icon, it will read
'Insert Custom'.
One of the
options that appears after you select that icon is 'Insert Flash
Slideshow'. You have the option to 'upload' a .swf file if you have
created your own Flash Slideshow, or you can select one of the
slideshow choices available in the program. After you have selected
your Slideshow, click on the button 'Insert Flash Slideshow'. The
program will then insert the slideshow for you.
Q - There is
a Slideshow within my Website Template, how do I change it?
A
- If you have selected a template that has a slideshow built in, you
will need to change that in a special section. Visit your Design
Center, and then click on Site Manager. In the middle of those
options, you’ll find a section that reads 'Select the default
slideshow for the web templates that support it'. The pull down
menu will list the default slideshows and the shows you have created
from the beginning to select from.
Q - My
Slideshow has been active on my page for a few weeks. I just went
back in to add some new slides. When I view the Slideshow through
the website, those new slides are not showing up. Why is it not
updating?
A
- When you initially insert a slideshow into your page, the program
places the slideshow and the accompanying files in the HTML section
of the programming. If you update the Slideshow later within the
Slideshow builder, these changes will not appear on the page in
which they were originally placed. First, you will need to delete
the slideshow from your Page Editor, and then reinsert the slideshow
into the page. At that point, your new changes will appear.
Q - After I
insert a Slideshow I am getting an error about ActiveX... What does
that mean?
A
- ActiveX is a safety feature that Microsoft added to Internet
Explorer 6.0 to warn users that an ActiveX object was being used.
Flash files are labeled as an ActiveX file in Internet Explorer
6.0. Some ActiveX objects can be harmful. This is simply a warning
for you. Click on the 'Okay' button and the error message will go
away and your Flash file will be inserted.
Read the following from real estate
professionals who are using Advanced Access' Marketing Tips to their advantage:
We have had a website with Advanced Access now for about 3 years. Since upgrading to the Classic 3.0 package, our site traffic has really taken off. Being able to manipulate our site has become a lot easier, not to mention the new tools added. Our site is now ranked in the top ten on Google for 7 search terms, with 2 number one spots. As a result, we are getting more traffic than ever before. Keep up the great work and I can't wait for the next upgrade!

"I am in my second year with AA and I am delighted about the new changes. The template websites are more becoming a personal site with all the possibilities. For busy people your set up works the best.
Lately I have been approached by many website providers, some with excellent programs. But I think the AA system for Realtors is one of the better ones. Lately I recommended AA to one agent in my office and she just signed up with you. Thank you!
