Have
You Reconciled With Your ’04 Site? (Part 3)
Continuing with our New Year’s Resolutions series, this week we are
talking about marketing your website. Remember this fact when you
are adding the next resolution to your list: you can’t have a
successful website without anyone knowing it’s there!
Resolution 4 - I will market my website
EVERYWHERE
Does
anyone know you have a website? How are they going to find out
unless you tell them?
Once
you have spent some time familiarizing yourself with your website,
learned a little about how to use it, and have added some great
content, it’s time to get the word out about your .com!
There
are several ways you can get your website address advertised, and
you should incorporate as many as you can into your marketing
strategy.
-
Advertise your
website address on your business cards, post cards, flyers,
mailers, and any other print materials
-
Add your website
address to your promotional items such as pens, hats, sweaters,
name tag, sign riders, etc.
-
Add your website
address to your car with a back window sticker, license plate
frame, or URL tag
-
Use your local
newspaper to feature your website; announce the “debut” of your
brand new site, or the “Grand Re-Opening” of your revamped site
-
Add your website
address to your voicemail greeting(s) (example: “Hello, you’ve
reached Joe Agent, please leave a message and I will return your
call. In the meantime, please visit my website at
www.JoeAgent.com.”)
-
Actively
investigate any available avenues in the media that “the other
guy” is not taking full advantage of. How about church bulletins,
school functions, athletic events, or even Pop Warner football
leagues? On any given day, you can practically look around and
discover an unlimited source of advertising avenues waiting for
you to take ownership and include your web site URL address.
You can
also use third-level domains to highlight the most important
features of your website on your advertisements. A third-level
domain is a sub name of your site set up in the format of
Info.YourSite.com. You link that to a specific page within your
website so when people type the address in their browser, they are
taken
DIRECTLY
to that page.
For
example, create a third-level domain that points to your listings,
by setting up Listings.YourSite.com, or Homes.YourSite.com and
linking that to your featured properties. Or, if you specialize in
relocation and have added an information page dedicated to your
relocation prospects, create a third-level domain for that page
called Relo.YourSite.com.
The
KEY with third-level domains is to advertise them.
Include these on your specialized marketing tools. If you have
materials for relocation prospects, include your “Relo” third-level
domain on those materials. Your relocation info sheet can say, “For
RELOCATION information and help visit Relo.MySite.com”.
Make a
list of your most important website features and create third-level
domains for those and
ADVERTISE
them on your marketing materials. It’s a great way to direct people
to the information you want them to see
FIRST!
Read the following from real estate
professionals who are using Advanced Access' Marketing Tips to their advantage:
"I just want to tell you how much I love your program. I had a
website before where every time I wanted to change something, I had
to email them and they had to do it. I had almost no control. (That
website company went out of business. I wonder why!) That is why I
started looking around and found you. I love the fact that I have
control over the content and am able to add pages, change buttons,
etc. and customize my website to be more like me. For example, I
have a section on neighborhoods that I specialize in on my website.
I wanted to do this on my previous website, but they were going to
charge me to update it every time a home status changed, ie. active,
pending, sold, in one of my neighborhoods. I love the fact that I
can do that myself, when I want and as often as I want. I have had
your website for about a year and love it. I continue to add pages
and more information as I have time. It is unlimited what you can do
if you just use a little creativity. Thank you Advanced Access for
letting me have control of my website!"

you to all of my associates! Please keep up the good work!"
James Daniel says:
"I just would like to say that AA is the best! Your customer service
has always been top notch no matter who the rep is. I brag to my
colleagues in the office about you guys when they ask who did my
site. Many thanks!"
