REALTORS® Relief Efforts for Hurricane Katrina
The devastation
that Hurricane Katrina has wreaked on the gulf coast has been
devastating – and has been singled out as the largest natural disaster
in our country’s history. NAR has contributed well over $1 Million to
funds established by the state REALTOR® Associations. They are asking
for your help as well. All administrative costs of the project will be
absorbed by NAR, and 100 percent of contributions to the REALTORS®
Relief Foundation will go to disaster relief. Contributions are tax
deductible.
At Advanced Access, we are committed to supporting relief efforts in the areas
devastated by Hurricane Katrina and resulting flood waters. Through
various corporate promotions, we have donated a portion of our sales
to the REALTORS® Relief fund.

You may make contributions online through NAR's secure Web site:

You may wish to add
a section to your website about the NAR Relief Fund. With 100% of any
contributions going straight to disaster relief, make every penny
count.
Advanced Access has created the following banners that you may
use with our compliments. Please “right-click” to save the image you
wish to use to your computer and then upload it to your File Library
on your website. You may then add the image to your Home Page Manager
(or any other section) with information on where to donate to ‘make
every penny count’.
After you upload the image to your website, be sure to hyperlink it to
the Realtor Relief website. If you have another donation of
choice, please visit the link located under these banners to select an
image that is not specific to any one organization to add to
your website.

From the Advanced Access Forums:
Our valued client, Eric Bouler from
Baton Rouge Real
Estate, has checked in with us. Eric has made it safely to Houston
and is still awaiting word of what has become of their home and
livelihood. Eric posted, “Real Estate is pushed back for us for the
rest of 2006. I am fortunate to have worked hard, very hard the past
year to not have to worry about meals or water. I wanted to thank you
guys who have helped me on my site this past year. Say prayers for all
of us, hug your kids, call your mother, do the things you forget to do
in the rat race. Some really appreciate a cold glass of water.”
The staff and
management at Advanced Access would like to express our sincerest
condolences to all who have been affected by this tragic natural
disaster. To our Advanced Access family in the affected area – some
of whom we have not yet heard from – our thoughts and prayers go out
to you and we wish you the very best.
In the
Spotlight – Secure Area
From time to time we will highlight some of our less famous but highly
valuable Classic 3.0 website features. We are all about educating you
and helping you find those resources that may have been lost in the
crowd. This week’s spotlight is on the Secure Area feature.
With the use of Secure Area you have the ability to restrict access to
certain web pages within your website or another by requiring a
website visitor to login before viewing those pages. Provide special
private or VIP access via a username and password (or just a password)
to only those visitors for whom you wish to reserve certain
information or properties. You can password protect access to any
page within your website. You can also password protect access to any
URL on the Internet when accessed from your site via a Secure Area
page. Please note that the Secure Area feature does not create an
area secured for the transmitting of sensitive information such as
Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, credit card numbers,
etc.
Gene Carey of
Grayslake Real Estate utilizes Secure Area to obtain leads of a
higher quality with a search criteria form that precedes his MLS
search pages. His form does not require a phone number, and yet he
gets excellent results! The key is making the form appear as little
like a ‘registration form’ as possible. His search criteria form is
the standard Advanced Access Dream Home Finder form with some
modifications. The Secure Area type he uses is called ‘Single
Password Login’ which allows access to a section using a universal
password. How do his visitors obtain the password? They must fill
out the form, then upon submission, the password will be automatically
emailed to them. The secret: this requires the visitor to enter a
valid email address.
Other possible uses for Secure Area include:
-
Creating a VIP area
with your ‘preferred vendors’ phone list. This would consist of
various community resources such as the best contractors,
inspectors, etc and all of their contact information. Maybe even a
special deal if they mention your name to the vendor…network all you
can! This is great for your current buyers, and it will encourage
them to give you a referral since you provided such valuable
information.
-
Create a link on
your homepage advertising a membership to your website. This
membership can give your users access to something that you deem
special or important. Once someone fills out your membership form,
you can set up the form to reply back to them via email with their
login information. This login information would use the ‘Secure
Gateway’ (explained below) in which you would create a network of
pages that are available to ‘Members Only’. Remember that your
presentation is key; it’s all about perceived value.
Secure Area is located in your Classic 3.0 Virtual Office under the
Additional Features section.
There are four
types of Secure Areas:
User Login
– This option requires a user to enter a login and password to access
the secure area. The user name and password is created by you in the
‘Create New User’ section. You will also be able to specify which
users on your main user list can access this specific secure area.
This will be determined by adding to the ‘Members’ list for this
secure area once it is created.
Single Password Login
– This option allows you to create a single password for access to the
secure area. When selecting this option, a text box will appear to
the right. This is where you will enter the password for this secure
area.
Subscription Login
– This option requires a user to enter a login and password to access
the secure area. The login and password is created by the user
subscribing through the secure area page on your website. You can
choose to require your approval before their subscription is activated
or not. When selecting this option, a checkbox will appear to the
right that says, ‘Require Subscription Approval’. If you would like
to require approval, place a check in that box. If you do not wish to
require approval, leave that box unchecked.
Secure Gateway
– This option will allow you to add multiple pages to this secure area
with a single login and password for each page. Each login and
password is associated with a specific page. The page that the user
views upon login depends on which login and password the user enters.
These are called ‘Gateway Pages’. You will be able to add these pages
and create the login and password for each page from the Secure Area
main menu once you create this secure area.
We encourage you to take advantage of your Secure Area website
feature. The possibilities are limitless!
