How to Feature a Property in STYLE

Looking for a way to effectively highlight a property for sale on your website?  Do you have a seller who is requesting more exposure for their property?  You should consider creating a slideshow for that listing.

Slideshows are a series of photos that transition from one to the other.  Text and links can also be added to the individual slides, or be applied to the entire slideshow.  For example, you can use a slideshow to showcase a few different properties by having each new slide be a photo of a different listing.  On each slide, you can then add the address of the home pictured, and then link the slide to the property details page for that listing in ListNOW.  Or, you can use a slideshow to feature one property and include multiple photos for that one listing using the text to describe each photo, such as "Master Bedroom", etc.  Once you have created a slideshow, you can add it to your homepage for maximum exposure.

Creating a slideshow

To create a new slideshow, login to your Virtual Office and click on the 'Design Center' option.  Next, click on the 'Slideshow Builder' link.  In this section, you will see our seven default slideshows that we have created for your use.  Below that, you will see the 'Saved Slideshows' section which may or may not be blank, depending on whether you've previously created or copied a slideshow.

In the 'Saved Slideshows' section, you have two options; 'Create Custom Slideshow', and 'Create ListNOW Slideshow'.  Whether you would like to feature a single property or multiple properties within a slideshow, choosing the ListNOW Slideshow option will be the quickest, and easiest way to create your slideshow.  Once you've clicked on the 'Create ListNOW Slideshow' option, you'll be taken to the page where you can select which property or properties you wish to include.

If you wish to include multiple properties, you'll use the menu on the left.  Click on the address for each property you want to include.  Each property selected will be highlighted in yellow.  If you wish to include a single property, you'll use the menu on the right.  Click on the address for the property you want to include.  The property selected will be highlighted in yellow.  For a slideshow using one property, it is important that there are additional photos on the listing, otherwise, there will only be one image.

You will see a checkbox at the bottom that says, "use address/title for slide text".  It will already be checked for you so that the slideshow will include that information.  If you do not wish to have the info on the slides, uncheck that box.  Next, click on the 'Build' button below the appropriate section.

Once the slideshow has been built, you will be taken to the 'Slideshow Information' page.  You can edit your preferences for the slideshow on this page.  A great way to draw attention to your slideshow is to include a banner.  A banner can be used to add a small diagonal strip that says, "For Sale", or "Just Listed", or "Just Reduced", etc.  You can add a banner by simply entering your short phrase in the 'Banner Text' field.

Once you have selected your preferences, you can also further customize each slide, delete a slide, or insert additional slides.  We do recommend not having more than six images in a slideshow to avoid the slowing of your website load time.  Click the 'Update' button when finished.  Once the slideshow has updated, you will be back on the Slideshow Builder main menu.  You can click on the 'view' link next to your new slideshow to preview it.

Adding your slideshow to your homepage

You can easily add your slideshow to your template if you are using one of our templates that has a slideshow already included.  If you are using one of these templates, you can change the slideshow by going to 'Slideshow Builder' in the 'Design Center' and clicking on 'Preferences' at the bottom, and selecting your new slideshow.  If you do not want to replace the slideshow being used in the template, you can simply add the slideshow to your homepage as normal.

To add your new slideshow to your homepage, go to the 'Page Manager' menu and click on the 'Homepage' option.  Place your cursor in the location of your homepage where you would like the slideshow to be placed.  Next, click on the 'Insert Custom' icon (looks like a keyboard with a finger pressing a button).  Choose the 'Insert Flash Slideshow' option.  Click on the name of your new slideshow, then click the 'Insert Flash Slideshow' button.  Your slideshow will then be in your homepage editor.  You may not actually see the slideshow itself; it may appear as a black box in the edit section, but it will be there when people view your actual website.  Once the slideshow is inserted, click the 'Save and Exit' button to save your changes.

Making changes to your slideshow

If you ever make edits to your slideshow and would like those changes to be reflected in the slideshow on your homepage, you will need to delete the old version from your homepage and insert the new version.
