Creative Marketing
For Realtors

We just sent out our January Newsletter to all of our valued clients!  Did you receive it?  If not, click here to see the last few months of newsletters online!

Each week I enjoy sending you a new "E-Marketing Tip," designed to give you ideas on how to make the most of your Internet presence, how to drive more traffic to your website, and provide you with resources you can avail yourself of to create more "Link Popularity" to help boost your results on some of the search engines.

Be sure and check out past marketing tips!  We have very valuable information and it's always important to go back and review once in a while!

I also enjoy keeping you updated on items in your virtual office.  Knowing how to read your Web Statistics is a very valuable tool because if you understand the effect of your marketing or promotions in your community, you can make informed decisions about your future promotional efforts.

We receive many questions asked regarding 'In which search engines can I be found?"  Well, there is a place for you to find this information!

On the left hand side of your screen, there is a sub-heading of 'Referrers By'.  If you click on the + (plus) mark next to that sub-heading, you will see more choices appear.

If you choose 'Analysis', this is the section that will display all of the sites that are directing traffic to your website.

Important: Our web statistics miss some of the main search engines that they classify.  For example, regarding the image below:

The graphic above has Yahoo.com marked as the only 'referring search engine'.  Although, if you look at the list of the Top 10 most active referring domains, in addition to Yahoo the list includes AOL, Google, and Go.  Even though these are actually search engines, our web statistics program does not recognize them as such.  This is something very important to be aware of.

As you can see from the image above, this real estate agent is very savvy and has been working on their Link Popularity!  They are currently receiving traffic from popular real estate websites such as IRED.com, Real-Estates.com, and RelocationExpert.com.

The 'Pages By' section, is an important resource as well.  This section will tell you where your clients are going after they reach your first page.  We have found that the most visited section of your website is your personal Listings.

This is why we always advise you to keep your active listings entered into your ListNOW database, as well as your sold listings.  Consumers enjoy viewing the multiple photos you have on each listing, as well as any virtual tours you have attached.  This will keep your visitors coming back to see the new homes you have entered into your database.

To receive a summary, click on 'Analysis'.  This will give you a listings of the most commonly accessed pages, least commonly accessed pages, most common error pages, entry point pages, and exit point pages.

Again, this is just a summary.  To receive detailed information, click on the specific subjects under the 'Pages by' section.

We receive many questions regarding the 'Most Common Error Pages' section.  The reason this is listed is because the page was not fully loaded due to your visitors browser or Internet line connection.  Also, many consumers may be physically typing an address into their browser and could possibly have spelled the address incorrectly.

Another interesting section of 'Pages By' is the category of 'Time Spent'.  This will tell you the total time being spent on a particular section of your website.

'Entry Point' will give you a good idea of the page in your site where your potential clients are entering into your site.  Many times people will bookmark your site, and NOT come through your front page.

'Exit Point' will tell you from which page they leave your website.  It might be a good idea to LOOK at that page they are leaving from to see if anything should be changed, such as adding more links back to a contact form to be filled out, etc.

I think 'Sessions By' is my favorite section of web statistics.  This section will show you specifically where your clients are coming from.  Virginia will usually be on the top of the list because AOL is based in Virginia.  If you scroll further down the page you will get to the 'Breakdown of Traffic by Continent'.

It's always fascinating to learn that people are visiting your website from other countries.  The Internet is truly "World Wide" as you can see from your statistics.  It will list every different country from which consumers have been surfing your website from.  Here is an example of some of the countries:
