Comments on Digital Cameras
New Intellicards Added!
Closing Gift Idea from GiftStamp.com

Last week I talked about some recommendations for digital cameras.  I got a lot of comments back regarding other people's likes and dislikes!  Read on to see their comments...

Rob Levy says:

"I use a Kodak DC210 ( the predecessor to the 215) and have taken about 3,000 house photos with it.

I concur that one does not need a multi-megapixel camera for r/e purposes and this one takes great photos of inside / outside with the wide angle lens. "

About the Sony Mavica Digital Camera,
Debbie Ferrari comments:

"The greatest benefit is being able to pop out the 1.44 MGB floppy disk from the side of the camera, slip it into my computer's A drive and instantly be able to email recorded images of homes or neighborhoods.

Being able to swiftly email images to buyers has led to a half dozen sales for me that likely I would not otherwise have gotten. One such instance is recounted on a page in my web site.

A good article on more high tech tools for Realtors is in the current magazine of the California Association of Realtors (CAR)."

June Comey remarked

I have the Sony Mavica...older version....I love it....simple to use, decent photo quality. But, yes it IS bulky.....ok for work but not convenient for personal use.

Faye Povero asked:

Ask them how the Sharp 40x with digital video capacity works, the pics can be mobile. Will that work with their system?????

Faye, we went to VisualTour.com for your question, and here is what they said:

"Thanks for passing this question along. The question is "Can I use a video or digital video camera to create a VisualTour?"

Answer: Yes and no. While it is possible to use a video camera, VisualTour.com uses jpeg files not true video (mpeg or avi) files. To create the "moving" or scrolling panoramic and 360 degree pictures you see in a VisualTour, you just take multiple overlapped "still" photos. The VisualTour software will then stitch together these multiple photos into a super wide panoramic image. This panoramic image scrolls or appears to move when displayed on the Internet in a VisualTour. To use a video camera, you would need to set it to "still mode" to take jpeg files or you would have to use other software to edit individual frames from a video file and save them as still or jpeg files. This is a lot of extra work for you and the digital still cameras are much more flexible and inexpensive compared to the digital video cameras. You'll notice few if any true streaming video virtual tours on the Internet as it is difficult, time consuming, and the viewing quality is very poor compared with digital still camera images.

So, "Yes" you could use a digital video camera, "No" you wouldn't want to. Think of it like buying an expensive professional grade, six burner stove for your kitchen when most of your cooking revolves around making popcorn, defrosting frozen foods, and heating up leftovers. While you can use the expensive oven to make popcorn, a $100 microwave oven is a much better solution. Faster, easier, less cleanup, no extra pots and pans. And the average person won't burn the popcorn with a microwave but will on the expensive oven!

The other thing to consider is that a video camera is designed to film moving objects, e.g., kids at sporting events, brides walking down the aisle, etc. Homes don't move. A still camera is a much better tool for this job."

Hope that helps you out Faye!

Comments about our new Intellicards from REALTORŪ Judy Pete:

"Wow...I just love all of the new Intellicards! These are such creative new designs. My only problem was in trying to decide which one I wanted to send first:-)

I usually answer emails, check my stats and send out my prospect matches between 6 and 7am so imagine my surprise when I saw all of these great new designs. I just grabbed a cup of coffee and had to preview every one and plan for the homes I would list and sell so that I could try them out for all of my clients!

Angie, you and Advanced Access really do "get it" when it comes to design and service. You're the best!

What is a GiftStamp?

www.giftstamp.com  - As seen in RealtorŪ Magazine...

GiftStamp will have your name, phone number, company logo, web address, and a personal message custom imprinted on the front. The rubber stamp part that actually prints is the name and address of the new home owner or person receiving a GiftStamp.

Whose name and address does the stamp print?

Each stamp, when pressed down, will print the name and address of the new home owner or person receiving the stamp. Your name, number and logo is imprinted on the front of each stamp for your client to see each time they pick up and use the stamp.

What information can be put on the front of the stamps?

You can put virtually anything on the front of the stamp, but most agents keep it simple with just a personal message (Referrals Are My Best Compliment), name, number, and logo. The simpler the info, the easier it is to read.

I hope our weekly Marketing Tips have been helping you with your own marketing efforts.  Here are some comments from some of our valued clients!

"We do want to say thank you to everyone at Advanced Access who have worked so hard to create an awesome product for us. As Realtors who have built a site in the past we appreciate it more than you can imagine. You have given us in a few days far more than we had created in months and even years of working on own site. We are excellence driven and you have exceeded our expectations
as we really weren't aware of all that we were getting when we purchased your service. You are the best!"

"I am so please with my website that I felt compelled to let others know. Originally, I designed and maintained my own website. As my business has grown in the last 2 years I simply did not have the time to maintain this process any longer. I am an avid student of Rick Deluca and clicked over to Advanced Access from his site. I researched, questioned and researched more and finally made the plunge.

The process has been seamless right out of the gate. Now I have one the finest and most complete sites in our area. It's not just an image website like most others, it really has info that keeps customers coming back. I use the Intellicard program for all Just Listed, monthly newsletters and much more.

In the year 2000, I picked up 8 listings as a direct result of the site and 13 closed buyers with over 100 active leads still out there on my Intellicard hot list.

Let me tell you about the one that got away... An elderly lady that was originally from our area but now lived in the Bahamas, emailed me about "some" property she had to do something with. As I followed up with her I discovered that the property was actually 177 acres of undeveloped BEACHFRONT and SOUNDFRONT property that she had inherited many years ago. In summary, nothing has come of this yet due to coastal regulations, but, IF it ever happens .25 acre beachfront lots sale in this area for upwards $250,000 each.
How did she find me???? very simple, she had recently done a transaction with Coldwell Banker in another part of the country and she went to a search engine and typed "Coldwell Banker Wilmington NC" and bam there I was (thanks to Advanced Access).

So now when I get up in the morning I rush to check my email, because you never know WHO will contact you and what opportunity may be awaiting...

I've bought and gave up most of the competitors (homeseekers, homes.com, realtyhosting and more.) There is simply NO BETTER offer out there than Advanced Access.
