This is your Marketing Tip of the Week from Advanced Access!

I have been stressing the importance of marketing your website in normal advertising.

When you have a listing, what is one of the first things you do?  You put your sign in the front yard or in a prominent place by the home.  This is basically stating that the home is for sale by YOU, displaying YOUR phone number, and YOUR company name.

Do you have your website address displayed on your sign rider?  Having a personal website is one of the best marketing tools you will ever have.  It is working for you twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.  Your website is displaying your featured listings, all the listings in the MLS, community and school info, free reports, extensive buyer and seller tips, local businesses in the area, and giving free gifts to anyone that stops by.

All that information is located on your website.  That is much more than just your name, company, and phone number.  The potential client is not ready to call you, you need to give them the option to go to your website.  Being on the Internet allows you to communicate with that potential client in a non-threatening way.  A consumer is now able to explore all you have to offer without committing themselves to something they might not be ready for.

Your next homework assignment is to think about ordering sign riders with your website address.  There are a couple of different ways to display your website address.

#1 - Visit by website @ www.MyWebsiteGoesHere.com

#2 - www.MyWebsiteGoesHere.com

Personally, I think that simply displaying your website in big, bold letters is the best way to go.  Be sure to put the 'www' in front and you can also capitalize the first letter of the actual words.  If your website is your name, capitalize the first letter of your first and last name.  If someone is driving by, their eyes will be able to pick out your website address easier.  See the difference:

It is a small detail, but it will make a difference if someone is moving past your sign rather quickly.  Also, the Internet is not case sensitive for domain names, so either way you type the address in, they will be able to find you.
