Tech Tips!

Many times when items are changed on your website, our clients tell us "I can't see it!" or "The change has not been made." This problem usually has a simple fix. The fix is to clear your temporary Internet files. We all had to learn how to do this at some point, so we want to make sure YOU are aware of HOW and WHY you need to take care of this important task.

When we make a change to your website (such as adding a new button, making a text change, adding a graphic) you will pull up your website from your own computer. You may have saved it as a 'favorite,' which involves saving these files in YOUR computer to access it more quickly. We then ask you to 'clear your temporary Internet files'.

Do I HAVE to Clear my Temporary Internet Files?

This is actually something you should be doing on a regular basis. It doesn't 'bog' your computer down, it will help to clear unnecessary items from your computer and will make your life easier.

How to Clear Your Temporary Internet Files

Step One: Open your Browser (examples shown are for Internet Explorer). Go to your Tools menu and choose Internet Options.

Step Two: A window will pop up. Make sure you are on the tab called 'General'. Find the section called 'Temporary Internet Files'. Click on the 'Delete Files' button.

Step Three: Another smaller window will pop up. Check off the 'Delete all offline content' box so it is checked, then click on the 'OK' button.
