Third quarter profits and missed sale to Microsoft contribute to Yahoo’s layoffs (or “firing” as this article states) of 1,500+ employees (approximately 10% of its workers).

I found the article on Yahoo which got the story from the Associated Press. Syndication is odd when you “publish” a story by another source about your own business.

And of course, as the article states, it doesn’t help Yahoo that Google’s third quarter profits rose 26%.
