Go Back In Time!

October 29th, 2008 by Anna

This weekend is the end of Daylight Savings time. On November 1st be sure you change your clocks back an hour before you go to bed. Daylight Savings ends on November 2nd at 2:00 AM.

In honor of going back in time, I thought I’d share a couple of helpful online tools to help you get back in time.

Archive.org

Archive.org, also known as the “Way Back Machine”, is a great way to look back through your past website designs. If you forgot to save an old version of a page that you now need, you may just find it there. Just enter your website address and see how far you’ve come!

Google Cache

Google saves the version of your site they last crawled. If you made a change that went awry and you want an easy way to “go back”, you can often find the latest version on Google by using the “Cached” link in the search engine results. The page you want to find will have to be indexed in Google.

These are tools you may not be familiar with that can help you gain perspective on where you are headed with your online marketing efforts. For the long term, it it always good to look back at your strategy, so you can know what’s best for the future. I suggest keeping copies of your site pages saved to your computer for reference and backup purposes.
