Advanced Access Investment
We have been working overtime for months preparing our new data center, where your website and tools are hosted. Our new, state-of-the-art data center represents a $6.5 million investment in internet technology at the Norfolk, VA headquarters and across multiple data centers, resulting in coast to coast load balancing, redundancy and caching. Advanced Access and our parent company, Dominion Enterprises, are fully committed to delivering the best technology available to our clients. We are in it for the long haul and committed to building the best technology in America.

What does this all mean for you as a client of Advanced Access?
It is important that your website and other Advanced Access web services are hosted at a reliable facility. The new data center will result in faster loading times for your website visitors, better monitoring, greater redundancy, less downtime, room to expand and upgrade your existing products, and more experts managing your services. We have made this investment for the future of all Advanced Access clients.

- 172 cabinets available for our servers
- At 6,000 sq ft, the space for the data center is nearly three times the size of an average home
- (8) 30 ton AC units to keep the servers running smoothly and at peak performance
- Redundant Uninterruptible Power Supplies (Battery Backup) to keep the data center running in case the building power fails
- (4) 600 kWatt generators (n+1) which provide another redundant power system capable of keeping power up in the data center for weeks in the event of a natural disaster
- The fastest fire suppression system available (FM200); it is waterless and extinguishes any fire in less than ten seconds. The system is also environmentally friendly.
- 3 factor (biometric, RFID and cipher lock) physical security with CCTV which provides very secure physical access to the data center
- (2) OC12 Internet circuits on SONET rings with dual entrances to the building, which maximizes speed and bandwidth
- Extremely fast internet connection and redundancy is achieved with our redundant 10-Gigabit 100% Cisco network
- 450TB disk storage
- Continuous replication of data to our Ashburn, Virginia disaster recovery site
- All power and cooling components monitored by dual building automation systems which keeps staff aware of any problems
- 3 miles of conduit under the floor which means there are no exposed cables
- $2.5 million in switches to reduce under-floor access
