Advertise Your Listings on Facebook for FREE
August 5th, 2009 by AnnaLast week we talked about different ways to drive more traffic to your real estate website. One of the methods Steve mentioned in last week’s Marketing Tip was broadcasting your listings on the Web. We take care of exporting (”syndicating”) your listings to several partners for you, but of course, there are more opportunities out there.
Facebook is this little site you may have heard about. They have over 250 million active users; I know, it’s not much, but at least it’s something, right? According to the Facebook statistics page, 120 million of the active 250 million users login to Facebook at least once per day. The fastest growing demographic on Facebook are those 35 and older. In other words, your target audience for real estate is on Facebook!
Wouldn’t it be great if you could advertise your listings on Facebook? The great news is you can with Facebook Marketplace! Facebook Marketplace has four main sections: Items for Sale, Housing, Vehicles, and Jobs. Stop me if you find something interesting… HOUSING!

Just click on the “Post” link and add your listing. You can add a rental or a home for sale.

You can add a photo, and all the listing details you want.
When people search, they can set the search for whatever area they want. It is defaulted to search their own geographic location. If someone finds something they like, they can share it on their own Facebook profile for all their friends to see. What a great way to make your listings go viral!

so will you give us a XML feed from our site to place in other syndications?

Hi Brad, we don’t currently offer this, but it is a great idea. I know we have discussed it, and I will bring it up during our next product meeting!
In the meantime, we do syndicate your listings to several partners. Let me know if you have any questions.
