Yahoo to lay off 1500+

Third quarter profits and missed sale to Microsoft contribute to Yahoo’s layoffs (or “firing” as this article states) of 1,500+ employees (approximately 10% of its workers).

Did you catch “Link Week” at Google?

Recently Google changed their Webmaster Guidelines to exclude the phrase about getting inbound links for your site. They changed it to less specific verbiage recommending that you simply make sure other sites know your site exists. Most SEO’s feel this is pointing to an emphasis on relevance above all else.
