On Being Thankful
Monday, November 21st, 2011With Thanksgiving right around the corner (is it really just three days away?) and Black Friday looming behind it, marking the official beginning of the holiday shopping season, it’s easy to get swept away by all the hustle and bustle of the things that need to be done. Decorations need to be put up. Food needs to be prepared. Homes need to be cleaned.
But that’s not what Thanksgiving is all about. Thanksgiving is about just that — stopping to give thanks. Most of us are infinitely blessed year round, but only on Thanksgiving do we actually come together to intentionally recognize everything we should be thankful for.
