An Interview With Sue Doninger Greer
Advanced Access: How did you get started in the Real Estate Industry?
Sue Doninger Greer:
When I lived in New York the only way you could have a nice home was to renovate. I loved the process. When I moved to North Carolina new construction was a treat. I enjoyed shopping and seeing all the possibilities. I decided to turn my passion into a profession, and the rest is history!
AA: Do you have a specialty or favorite niche market group?
Sue Doninger Greer:
My specialty is new construction and custom building. I love working from conception to completion. My second area is relocation. Having experienced the process first-hand I understand just how difficult the entire process can be.
AA: At what point did you realize your need for a website? Describe your journey to Advanced Access and why you chose us as your provider.
Sue Doninger Greer:
I joined real estate at about the same time the Internet joined the market. I feel I evolved on the Internet over a period of time. I did not grow up as part of the computer generation so it has been a difficult process that I knew was necessary to survive. I saw the role of the REALTOR® changing and I knew I needed to be part of this metamorphosis. The Internet offers buyers and sellers all the information they could possibly want. I wanted my role to be the educator and help the customer understand and interrupt all the information. (My first career was education) In order to function in this capacity I needed to have my own website. So my journey began and fortunately I was able to find Advanced Access along that route.
AA: How has your real estate website impacted your business?
Sue Doninger Greer:
I have tried to create my website to be unique. My goal was to have quality and not necessarily quantity. I find I have met wonderful clients through my website. I find the customers who contact me have done so because they like what they have learned about me as a person through my Advanced Access website.
AA: What other resources through Advanced Access and life in general have contributed to your success?
Sue Doninger Greer:
My real estate career is built on realistic expectations. Real estate is a tough business, and like any endeavor in life it is “time on task and hard work.” I knew if I wanted to be successful I needed realistic goals and needed to be willing to change and grow, and obviously having a website that can change and grow with my business is a major reason that I have been able to succeed.
AA: Share with us some information about a recent transaction that began as a result of your website.
Sue Doninger Greer:
Presently I am working with three clients who are investigating moving to our area, and all three have been leads that have come to me and that are being harvested because of my Advanced Access website. I still need to do the normal real estate related work, but they are leads that have been generated by my website.
AA: What are some of your goals for your website and your online presence?
Sue Doninger Greer:
Naturally, I want my number of inquiries to continue to grow and increase. I would like to see my website becoming more content rich and be more readily found by the various search engines. When a visitor comes to my site I want them to stay and use me as a resource for all of their real estate needs.
AA: Tell us a little about your family, your history, and what you like to do in your spare time.
Sue Doninger Greer:
I am a New Yorker who located to the south 16 years ago. In my previous life in New York I taught school. I was a remedial reading specialist and a language arts teacher. When I moved south my life took me in different directions. I love beautiful homes and being with people. I decided to give real estate a try, and recently celebrated by 10th year in the real estate profession. I am lucky to have a wonderful husband and family who have supported and encouraged my career. I have two wonderful daughters who are grown and living in Manhattan. I am also very lucky to have two step-children who are in Raleigh with us here in North Carolina. In my spare time I love to be with my family, travel and enjoy beach time. My personal fun time passion is tennis. I play on United States Tennis Association (USTA) teams. It has given me the opportunity to travel throughout the south and the entire country. I have met wonderful friends as a result and have enjoyed the competitio
