Is Internet Explorer 7 Giving You The Red X Blues?


There have been many reports of Windows users downloading the newest version of Internet Explorer and then encountering problems viewing certain web pages and images online. If you have experienced issues with Internet Explorer 7 loading pages much more slowly, crashing, closing out windows entirely or anything else out of the ordinary, you may have an incompatible toolbar or some other added-on product conflicting with IE7. The best way to determine whether your toolbars and add-on features are to blame would be to run IE7 without the add-ons.

Go to your Windows Start menu, and select “All Programs”, then go into “Accessories” and click on “System Tools”. You should see an option for “Internet Explorer (No add-ons)”. This will disable all of the add-on products from loading up into that occurrence of Internet Explorer. Try visiting the website you were having problems viewing again and if you do not experience any issues while the add-ons are disabled, you know that this is a problem with a particular product and can then begin working to locate the problematic add-on. If this is the case, you will simply want to disable each of your add-ons one at a time until you locate the particular add-on that is giving you trouble and no longer experience any problems with IE7 and the offending site.

If this process does not fix the issues you are having viewing particular sites in IE7, we have created a solution for the problem that is quick and simple. There is a simple registry edit that will allow IE7 to work and also make adjustments to the active x controls so that all web pages load and run smoothly. Long story short, follow the directions below and IE7 should give you no more problems!

1. Simply click on the above Internet Explorer 7.0 Registry Patch link.

2. If you receive the below prompt while trying to apply the Registry Patch, proceed to step three. If not, proceed to step four.

3. Right Click on the security warning prompt and click Download, then proceed to step four.

4. When you get this prompt click "RUN"

5. Click “Yes” to add to the registry.

6. Finally, close out of all your Internet Explorer browsers. You're done!

It should also be noted that Microsoft intends to release a new patch that will completely fix this issue in April of 2008. However, until that patch is released, this will solve the issues you have been experiencing.
