Add a
Guestbook to Your Website for More Leads!
When a visitor finds
your home page, do you offer them several ways to contact you? If
you have an Advanced Access website, your contact information
appears at the bottom of the page, along with your e-mail address
and phone numbers. Most likely, you will also have your e-mail link
and Contact Form button in the navigation section of your website.
This is important because it represents a non-threatening way for
online consumers to contact you when they are ready to buy or sell
their property.
How about some added
INCENTIVE for visitors to click on your contact button? Our
studies have shown that adding a pop-up guestbook to the main page
of your website will encourage your online visitors to enter in
their name, phone number, e-mail address, and even a few
comments.
Here's an idea …. Set
your guestbook to "pop up" in different locations
throughout your website. The following are three ideas for pop-up
guestbook locations for your review:
- Add the Guestbook
to your home page as a pop-up window. First time (and
repeating!) visitors will see and view the guestbook when they first
enter your website.
- Add a Guestbook to the
interior pages of your website. Some consumers may be
frustrated if they are visiting your homepage for the first time and
a pop-up window suddenly appears. Although it is clearly a matter of
preference, we've heard that some visitors actually leave a website
with a pop-up window on the home page. The philosophy for a
guestbook sign-in page further into your website is that your
website visitors were interested enough to have ventured BEYOND the
home page and they have invested more time in exploring your
website. Therefore they may be more inclined to provide you their
contact information once they discover the quality of information
you're offering.
- Add a Guestbook upon
entering your Featured Properties (ListNOW). Remember, the
PRIMARY reason consumers visit your website is to view properties on
the market. That's why the properties are usually the FIRST section
your visitors will look for in your website. Your featured
properties, including active listings, pending and sold properties
should be kept as current as possible in your ListNOW program for
maximum impact for your visitors. Check the statistics section to
find the pages in YOUR site that are clicked on most often. Our
Virtual office offers you two choices for the Guestbook within
ListNOW. (1) Your Guestbook can pop-up BEFORE any properties are
viewed; or (2) Visitors can view the thumbnail photo of the
listings, and a guestbook will pop-up before they can view all the
details. We prefer the second choice as it works as a
"teaser" … and chances are the consumer will be more
interested in the details of the listing if they can first see a
small image of the property.
Become a POWER USER
of your Virtual office and
vary the locations of your guestbook to decide which area works best
for you. Keep a record of the location that receives the most leads.
For example:
For three weeks, turn on
the home page Guestbook pop-up. After the three-week period, record
the number of 'Guestbook Sign-ins' you received. Then, turn OFF the
homepage guest book and turn on the ListNOW Guestbook before
accessing the details of the property. Leave that guestbook on for a
couple of weeks, and record the number of sign-ins you received.
Then, turn on an interior page Guestbook in an interior page of your
website.
Would you rather have
another page pop-up? Aside
from a guestbook, you can have ANY type of page pop-up in your
website. Some of our clients have monthly contests and set up a
pop-up page with different prize information each time. How does it
