Have You Reconciled With Your ’04 Site? (part 1)

New Year’s Resolutions For Your Real Estate Website

Every year, I with many of my friends and family, and along with millions and millions of people across this country and throughout the world, engage in one of the oldest traditions practiced by mankind.  The New Year’s Resolution!

And like many of these yearly promises or goals that have unfortunately gone by the wayside, it is important for every real estate professional to take a few moments, and seriously reflect on what marketing and advertising strategies have worked or brought to your business the kind of results you intended to achieve when launching your current marketing and promotional gem.

Are you serious about having a website that turns VISITORS into LEADS?  There are some tough questions you need to ask yourself about your current site to ascertain its effectiveness, and you may not like the answers.  You need the truth and nothing but the truth about how your website is really performing.  You may be sitting pretty on the amount of leads generated through your Internet marketing efforts, but I have a sneaking suspicion that you can use better strategies to manage them more effectively.  Whatever the state of your current site and business, you may find that these website New Year’s resolutions are essential to your list.  So now that 2005 has begun, let’s make a few changes, and hopefully improve your results.

We will be featuring resolutions each week for the next few weeks; ENJOY!

Resolution 1 - I will spend TIME on my website

How much actual time do you spend on your website weekly?  The amount of time spent on the average website will differ based on many factors; you may be in your busy season, you may be in your slow season, you may not have anything new to say, or anything new to list.  The fact remains that there is always something you can be doing to improve your website.

People want more!  If you want to have repeat visitors on your website, you will need to add things that “keep ‘em coming”.  Your website is not meant to sit there as the only issue of a one-time release publication.  No one will come back and stay if it’s always the same.

If you have added content during the week, and you say to yourself, “This site couldn’t get any better right now…” don’t pat yourself on the back too quickly; you still have work to do!  Check your website for broken hyperlinks, and out-of-date content.  If your website still has the Advanced Access provided “stock” content, read it, get familiar with it; be able to answer any questions about your website that are posed to you.  Do you actually use that information in your real estate presentation?

To successfully spend time improving and maintaining your site, schedule a time slot each day where you are devoted to working on your website.  Start with a half-an-hour time slot per week day and work your way up or down from there. (I definitely suggest working your way UP!)

Resolution 2 - I will take advantage of the FREE programs and instruction available to me

Are you the person driving in circles that won’t stop to ask for directions?

Don’t underestimate the grief saving wonder of reading the instructions.  A look at our instruction manuals for your website and Virtual Office can help unlock the door to adding content, marketing, and managing your contacts.  Be sure you know what your website can do.  Take a few moments to familiarize yourself with all the options at your disposal in your Virtual Office Support Center.

If you are local, take time to attend one of our free classes on how to make the most of your website and use your Virtual Office.  If you aren’t local, check with us to see if we will be visiting your area, or if there are any seminars coming-up in your ‘neck of the woods’ that we can recommend.  We also have a list of professional speakers that we can refer you to available on our website.

If you have been to all the seminars and meetings you can handle, and you need the type of help and discussion that is catered specifically to you, take advantage of the free community forums offered by ADVANCED ACCESS.  Forums are a great way to get expert answers and advice fast.  You can post a specific question, or ask other experienced forum members and moderators to evaluate your website.  You will get numerous responses from other real estate professionals and often from our talented staff…sometimes even in a matter of minutes.

The truth is that everyone needs a little help, and some of us need a lot more than others.  Don’t be afraid to ask for the help that so many are willing to give to you freely.  KNOWLEDGE is POWER, so soak it in!

"The service I have received from Advanced Access is better than excellent. I feel lucky to have you hosting my website. I will recommend you to all I know who are in need of a website! Thanks so much to Kyle Ocampo, who did more than he was required."

Gerald Kimmey says:
"David was great. The customer service at AA (I guess to avoid confusion with the 'other' AA I should say Advanced Access) is almost always exceptional - I used to operate a 30 person Help Desk, so I truly appreciate the great people in the support center there.
For someone new to this website thing like myself, it gives me great confidence to know that an 'expert' is always just a phone call away. Thanks again and Happy New Year!"

Ron Chrupcala Sr. says:
"I would like to also compliment Tricia Colagrossi for the great Marketing and the presentation material that she had sent me and she was a pleasure to speak with and guide me and explain to me why I should go with your company. She is an asset to your organization. I look forward to a great future with my new web site and the continuing support and help of your company,. Thanks for all your efforts."

Christy Gordon says:
