Advanced Access Exhibits
at the
NAR Convention in San Francisco!

Our Booth at the Convention

Advanced Access Sales Representatives just returned from San Francisco where we exhibited our products and services at the National Association of REALTORS® Convention November 10 - 13, 2000.

We truly enjoyed meeting and talking with our clients from across the country! Some of you are "old friends" that we've known for years, and some are new friends that we had the opportunity to meet for the first time in San Francisco. A big "Thank You" to all of you who took the time to stop by and say hello to us during your busy convention schedules.

At the Trade Show we featured our Intellicards program that allows you to send out monthly Newsletters, Homeowners Tips, Property Flyers, Animated Greetings, Birthday Cards, Home Anniversary Cards, and much MORE via email.

Online Internet Marketing Training: "On-Time Training"

(Please note: You will have to enter in your name and email address to complete the training.)

Many of our clients have asked us if we were planning to provide online training in the near future, and the answer is YES, by popular request. Our online marketing training seminar through OnTime Training is the first step. We are planning to offer online Virtual Office training during the first quarter of next year.

In the meantime, if you would like to take our course entitled "Creating a Successful Internet Marketing Strategy," please feel free to click on the link above.

Creating a Successful Internet Marketing Strategy is specifically designed to help you implement the power of current technology tools to successfully promote your business on the Internet. For example, you will (1) appreciate the central role of your web site in your marketing efforts, (2) learn how to choose an effective domain name, (3) scrutinize the crucial elements of web site design, (4) review the qualifications you must require of web designers and hosts, (5) examine methods for filling the key role of client communications, (6) explore the most effective tactics for merging the Internet with traditional marketing, and (7) study the innovative e-mail marketing initiative called Intellicards.

Thanksgiving Trivia: Did the Pilgrims Really Eat Turkey?

You may think you know the history of Thanksgiving. But do you really? Way back in 1621, the pilgrims at Plymouth Rock gathered together with the Native Americans, filled up cornucopias, and feasted on turkey and pumpkin, right? True, although they also had goose, duck, and venison. But that feast was a one-time event. And it wasn't a day of fasting and prayer, which is what thanksgiving meant to the pilgrims.

So when was the first Thanksgiving? It was actually a couple of years before the Massachusetts pilgrims' harvest feast. On December 4, 1619, John Woodlief's ship arrived from England, landing at Virginia's Berkeley Plantation. Thankful for a safe journey, the crew proclaimed that day as a holy day of thanksgiving to be observed annually. Our current version of Thanksgiving combines characteristics of both events. President Roosevelt set the fourth Thursday in November as Thanksgiving's official date in 1941.

NAR Experts See our 2000 Election Results
as
"Victorious for REALTOR®s"

Our 2000 election, however "cloudy" at the Presidential level, were "clear victories for REALTORS® and homeownership in Congressional races across the country," according to a consensus of political experts and analysists at several forums and sessions held during the Realtors Conference and expo. More than 23,000 Realtors and guests attended the meetings in San Francisco.

"It was a big win for housing," NAR President Dennis Cronk said during a media briefing to recap the nation's elections. "We invested $3.7 million hard dollars in the primary and general elections this election cycle and enjoyed a win rate of 95 percent in the U.S. House of Representatives and 82 percent in the U.S. Senate." Lee Verstandig, NAR's Senior Vice President for Government Affairs stated.

Verstandig underscored the importance of electoral success in laying the foundations for legislative success in the 107th Congress, which convenes in January 2001. "We are now fully prepared to achieve final victories on many of our priority issues, including brownfields reform, database protections, and taxes," he said.

Meet Our Team:  Introducing Troy Gregory!

Troy Gregory, pictured to the left, is our Director of the talented Design Department, and as such is in charge of all the visual and graphic aspects of our clients' websites.

Troy was born in England into a Military family. As a "military brat," Troy spent his childhood years in locations all around the world. Perhaps that's why he has such a pleasant personality and is so easy to get along with.

As a Graduate of Central Michigan University, Troy earned his Bachelor of Science in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts. You may have heard him "on the air" as he spent nine years in Radio (on the air in California, Florida and Michigan) and four years in Television and Video production. Troy begin his career at Advanced Access about 1 ½ years ago, and has seen our company grow from about 8 people to the nearly 60 employees we have working with us now.

In fact, Troy introduced us to his future wife and we ended up hiring Michelle Gregory as an Account Executive about a year ago. (They're an old married couple now, as they were married in June!) Troy and Michelle have one "child" - a dog named Charlie - the West Highland White Terror, er, Terrier.)

In Troy's free time, he can be found on Sundays during the football season at the Sports Bar watching the Miami Dolphins (Go Fins!) He also plays Softball, bowls in a league, and allows Charlie to take him for walks. A fun loving person, Troy also enjoys Roller blading, football, traveling, going to Vegas, movies, football, basketball, skiing, karaoke (we're all looking forward to Troy's rendition of "Funky Cold Medina" at the Advanced Access holiday party!), and did we already mention football? Troy and Michelle are planning a trip to London for New Years Eve.

Troy signs each of his emails with the following quote: "Each task is a self portrait of the one who did it. Autograph your work with excellence." by Thomas Jefferson. As someone who always autographs his work with excellence, we're proud to have Troy on our team.

Just for a Smile: "Sign Language"

Spotted in a downtown Winnipeg Shop:
WE LEAVE NOTHING UNFINISHE.

In a window at a vacuum cleaner store:
WHERE EVERYTHING SUCKS BUT THE SERVICE.

Spotted on a tiny church sign:
COME ON IN FOR A FAITH LIFT.

On a sign outside an automotive tire shop:
OUR WORK IS TIRING, BUT WE DO TAKE BRAKES.

To our Valued Customers:

Thank you for your business - we appreciate your patronage and support. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please send them to us.

LIVE YOUR LIFE EACH DAY as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance toward the summit keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from each new vantage point. Climb slowly, steadily, enjoying each passing moment; and the view from the summit will serve as a fitting climax for the journey.
