February 2001 Newsletter We Cannot Tell a Lie.…WE
Introducing Flashy New Designs for our Intellicards! Our talented design team has been working hard to bring you some EXCITING and CREATIVE new looks for our already popular FLASH animated greetings - part of our IntelliC@rd Email Marketing program. We are continually working to improve the products and services available to our valued clients. That's why each year we'll be adding to our repertoire of pre-designed marketing campaigns. Below are a few examples in our collection of NEW flash animated greetings.
The monthly FLASH animated greetings are designed to keep your name in front of your clients and prospects every month in an enjoyable and graphic manner. Our flash greetings campaign is only one of our monthly pre-designed marketing programs offered in Intellicards. We also offer Monthly Newsletters, Monthly Homeowners Tips (written by our copywriters), along with a 7-contact automatic email campaign. For more information about our Intellicards Email Marketing program, please click here, or email your Account Executive. For our existing Intellicards clients, look for your new FLASH animated greetings to be added to your program within the next few weeks.
Coming Soon: AA to Install Higher Speed T3 Connection! As ADVANCED ACCESS rapidly approaches the 7,000 customer milestone, we continue to upgrade our high-tech equipment and broad band connections to store and host our clients' websites. Several months ago, we contracted for a T3 line to be installed in our Anaheim Hills headquarters. (Currently ADVANCED ACCESS hosts our clients' websites with two T1 lines.) What is a T3? A T3 is a dedicated phone connection supporting data rates of about 43 Mbps. A T-3 line actually consists of 672 individual channels, each of which supports 64 Kbps. T-3 lines are used primarily by large Internet Service Providers (ISPs) connecting to the Internet backbone and for the backbone itself. What does our new T3 mean to you? Primarily the T3 will ensure that your website loads quickly, and will allow us to expand our customer network to accommodate additional clients without sacrificing the loading speed or quality of your site. Little did we know at the time we ordered our T3 what a major project it would be. To accommodate the demand of the fibre optic, huge pipes were installed in the underground parking garage, and meetings of technicians, phone company personnel, building managers, and electricians were necessary to coordinate this major effort. As the February newsletter is being readied for emailing to our clients, we're nearly there. More news on the T3 in next month's issue.

Will the "i-Home" be Part of YOUR Future? In the not so distant future, Internet technology companies would have us believe that we'll turn on the oven to bake a roast, video-cam in on the kids doing their homework, adjust the thermostat, pull down the shades and turn up the lights -- all without leaving our cubicle at work. In an article by Dena Amoruso in RealtyTimes.com, Dena reports that rather than retrofitting existing homes one-by-one, the key is developing communities of new homes wired for the new Internet utility. This is according to "Connected Communities," an intiative for homebuilders to incorporate "iHome" technologies into new, master-planned communities. The brainchild of networking giant Cisco Systems, Connected Communities is targeting developments in selected states. Not all agree that wired homes are an automatic easy sell. Getting the fridge to call the repairman requires a behavioral change that even technology may not overcome. We're always impressed by sophisticated technology and consumers seem to believe the high-tech industry's prediction that the Internet will be as vital to them as the telephone and automobile. But whether or not they buy into the idea of 'home-of-the-future' automated technology in great numbers remains to be seen. For more details, click here to read the article.
