Mid-Year Housing Report is Good News for the Industry The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) reports that the housing market should continue to provide solid support to the U.S. economy throughout the remainder of 2003 and beyond. In addition, sales of new single-family homes this year will likely set a new record.
"For home builders, the early part of this year was complicated by unusually large swings in weather conditions and uncertainties related to the buildup to war with Iraq -- yet sales of new homes held near a million-unit annual pace and residential fixed investment accounted for about one-third of total GDP growth in the first quarter," said Kent Conine, NAHB president. "Home sales actually have strengthened in the wake of the war, and are now on track to beat our previous forecasts and support the economy over the balance of the year." According to Conine, two key factors were contributors to the record numbers (1) passage of President Bush's economic stimulus package; and (2) the cut in interest rates by the Federal Reserve, which help lower interest rates on home mortgages. "Healthy house-price performance, continuing low mortgage rates, the expected effects of the economic stimulus bill, and solid builder confidence readings taken from our latest Housing Market Index survey are all excellent indicators that the housing industry will remain a strong and stable sector of the economy throughout the second half of 2003 and heading into 2004," said NAHB Chief Economist, David Seiders. Seiders added, "This pattern undoubtedly will generate new records for the nation's homeownership rate in 2003 and beyond."

Featured AA Employee of the Month: Richard Bryan
This month we're featuring an innovative leader and motivator, our Marketing Room Director, Richard Bryan. Richard has been on board for over two years, starting out with the company as a sales representative. Over the years, Richard received steady promotions - first he was promoted to a Managerial position, then to Assistant Director, and finally to Director of Marketing. Richard takes his responsibility seriously, and is someone we can always depend on - a steady "calm in a storm." A natural leader, Richard is responsible for training and motivating our employees in the Marketing and Promotions department. The marketing room is always full of activity, and Richard is a fair and honest leader with a powerful strength of integrity. He provides sound wisdom and advice to his colleagues and is a consistent positive influence on all of the members of his team. Everyone in the marketing room looks up to Richard, not only for his stature (he stands 6' 4") but for his work ethic, integrity, sales skills, motivation and product knowledge. Richard grew up in Farmers Branch, Texas and moved to
California ten years ago. He was educated at Texas Christian University in Fort
Worth as a Philosophy major. Before coming to work with ADVANCED ACCESS, Richard
owned his own medical records service, and a retail CD store. In addition, he
has worked as a bodyguard Richard draws his deepest inspiration from his beloved family. Richard is married to his beautiful wife, Jazmin, and they have three children, Max, Felipe and Galilea. Richard loves being with his family, and spends as much time with them as possible. Although he also enjoys sports, traveling and challenges in any form, Richard's family always comes first. When asked why he enjoys being a leader in the marketing room, Richard replied, "I love responsibility. I love challenges. I love being a solid person that people can rely on. I enjoy seeing the people that I work with excel in their positions. I love to motivate others. I am part of a great team." In the future, Richard would like to help children, learn how to fly, travel to all the continents and visit as many countries as possible. Richard's integrity and dedication sets him apart, and we're honored that he is associated with ADVANCED ACCESS.
