Featured Employee of the Month - Getting to Know John Rehagen
Family and Loved Ones... I have been married for 18 years to my wife, Connie, who shared with me the joy of having 2 boys over the past 6 years. After struggling to have children for 10 years, this became a true blessing for which I am always thankful. My parents, four siblings, and I live within an hour of each other. Being close, our families gather several times a year. School Days... I went to Cypress High School and have taken classes in over 6 community colleges in California. My favorite class was sailing. I am currently going to school full time at Santiago College in Orange. I have just been accepted to Biola University, which I am also concurrently going to school at night to get my Bachelor of Science degree. Before Advanced Access There Was... Before I was into computers, servers and networking, I spent time selling and servicing factory and oil refinery equipment. You could have seen me on top of one of the oil refinery smoke stacks, servicing flow meters that measured pollution. I then spent my next 12 years doing IT work at different companies. I also worked for Arthur Anderson when the Enron scandal forced the company to close. Fortunately, their competitor KPMG bought our division. Highlights of Working Here... As the Network Administrator, in the IT Department here at Advanced Access, I enjoy the challenge of troubleshooting problems and creating solutions that help things run smoother. Once I get a server, switch or router setup, then the fun really starts in how I can utilize them to increase performance to deliver to our clients better service. Looking to the Future... I am looking forward to utilizing our new data center in Irvine, California. I am also exited about some of the new technologies I will be working with in the future. Something We May Not Know... In my free time I enjoy taking short trips with my wife and kids. Also, I am a movie buff and love going to see a good movie with my friends. I like going off-road with my Jeep. I love old cartoons and thanks to my kids, I am a SpongeBob SquarePants expert.
