Domain Names
Your Address on the Internet
The best way to think of a domain name is as an alias, or an "Internet address." The domain name system was designed to make finding individual places on the Internet easier to locate. In order to have your website "live" on the Internet, you must have a domain name.

Registering a domain name is the equivalent to registering a company "dba." It is completely unique - once the name is registered, no one else may use that combination of letters or numbers as long as you own the domain name. A domain name is the means by which an individual or company can uniquely identify itself on the Internet.
Many people use their names, such as, www.johndoe.com, or a slogan, such as www.john4homes.com. The maximum number of characters allowed in a domain name is 63 (plus the .com,) and no other characters other than letters, numbers, and the hyphen symbol (-) may be used in a domain name.
After checking for availability of a name, we will file the appropriate applications to secure your unique name on your behalf. This is called Domain Name Registration.
The cost of your domain name is $19.95 for one year of registration (or $39.90 for two years). Registration of the domain name requires a credit card upon registration of a domain name, and the fees for domain names are nonrefundable. You can either register your domain name through our site, or we would be happy to register the domain name for you on your behalf. Every web site on the Internet must pay to have exclusive usage of their domain name.
